It’s been a whirlwind of a week with #takeahike ending and our #teamHLAW beginning.
This week I feel like I’ve made new friends in our Ambassador group, so much so that I’ve decided to add a new person into the group on the first of every month. So if you weren’t selected don’t worry I just might surprise you on October 1st by adding you into the group.
But for now I’d like to introduce 5 of our Ambassadors to you so you can get to know them a little bit better.
Welcome, Amanda “Lucy” Haskins, Amanda Mills, Amy Haney, Andrea Buzeta, and Annie Copeland. Click on their names to head to a page created just for them where you’ll find their bio’s, photos and more information.
I hope that you’ll find them inspiring, informing and entertaining (Annie will make you laugh until you pee your pants, just forward the video below to 15:40 for proof of that).
Here’s why I selected these women.
Lucy has been a huge part of the HLAW community almost since the beginning. She’s been there through all of my awkward growing pains as I was trying to figure out what I wanted the website to be and how to get it there. For that I’m thankful. She’s not the only one, a lot of my Ambassadors were selected because I adore them for sticking with me throughout the past 2 years.
Amanda is another longtime fan of both HLAW & Just Trails (a small outdoor trail guide business I own) and as an equestrian she brings a unique perspective to the table. I think it’s important to encompass women who hit the trails in other ways, not just on foot.
Amy is an educator, a teacher, a woman who inspires her students every single day. But two years ago she also had a stroke, and while she had to give up her first love, trail running she found a new love in hiking. I think Amy can teach me a lot, I’m looking forward to learning from her.
Andrea is a fellow blogger but what I found fascinating about her application was how much she travels and explores. She’s planning adventures to Yosemite National Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Colombia, South Africa, and Bhutan. I can’t wait to read about some of these places.
I just adore Annie! Annie is another blogger who I follow but what I love about her is that she’s unique. Annie has some physical limitations, she also hikes with her handicapped Mother frequently so she finds fun and creative ways to get out on the trails. Annie is proof that we can all get outside and enjoy the goodness in nature.
I chatted with a few of our Ambassadors on Monday night and I thought you might want a sneak peak at who they are and what they plan on bringing to the community.
Several have also been blogging about their experiences being selected for #teamHLAW on their own blogs and websites so check them out right here.
