What’s one book you’d recommend to a friend and why:  Managing the Unexpected: Resilient Performance in an Age of Uncertainty. I have read this a couple times and recommend it to others because we are all leaders in different aspects of our lives and this exposes the ways we may fail, but can learn and grow.

What’s your favorite thing to cook for dinner:  A simple side salad with a pita pizza is a quick and easy dinner that I enjoy making because I can personalize them to each person’s preference. Buffalo Chicken with Blue Cheese for hubby and Spinach, Chicken and Feta for me. Experiment and enjoy.

What’s your favorite quote:  Enjoy Life’s Simple Things!

If you could hike with anyone, dead or alive who would it be and why?  I love to hike with my hubby and our family, especially the grandsons because they are the future of enjoying trails and public land and helping conserve it. If I could expand that though and hike with anyone…Grandma Gatewood.  I would love to hike part of the AT with her and hear her story firsthand. What an inspirational and tough woman.

What the one piece of gear that always has a place in your backpack:  Survival kit. I love teaching wilderness survival basics to youth and I believe in it!  My survival kit includes some basic first aid supplies as well as essentials for getting through til I am found.

If you could drop what you’re doing right now and had unlimited funds what’s the one place you’d go hiking:  Tough one to narrow down.  I am fascinated with Antelope Canyon and Arches National Park; I really want to go hike there. I would have to say though, my husband and I have openly daydreamed more than once of taking off on the AT and going from Georgia to Maine. That would be an incredible trip!

Where can we find you on the internet:

Is there anything else you’d like to add:  Excited to see where your leadership takes this!  It is going to be epic!
